Jack Collins finished up his collegiate career at Central Michigan University in 2019. After graduating from Denmark high school, Collins played one year at the University of North Dakota and three years at Central Michigan as both a starter and relief pitcher.

Jack has been working with Velocity since 2019. He has had the opportunity to work with the majority of the high level pitchers that have came out of NE Wisconsin since he has started with Velocity. He is highly regarded in the area and many of the kids he has had the opportunity to work with have continued their baseball careers past high school. A good amount of those kids to the D1 level.
In High School, Collins was a Four-year letter winner in baseball … in 2015, earned All-Bay Conference first basemen honors and was on the Perfect Game and Under Armour Central Region preseason All-American watch lists. Collins was ranked 13th overall in the state of Wisconsin and the third overall left-handed pitcher for the class of 2015. As a senior, he was named his team’s offensive MVP by batting an average of .380. As a junior, in 41 innings, recorded 80 strikeouts with a 1.31 ERA and earned All-Bay Conference pitcher honors. He also lettered three times in basketball and twice in football.
At Central Michigan, as a junior Collins posted a 5-2 record with a 4.03 ERA. He made 20 appearances, all in relief. He allowed only 20 earned runs and held opponents to only 38 hits, while striking out 48 in 44 2/3 innings. As a senior, Collins made three starts allowing 0 earned runs in each of those starts. With 17 appearances, he struck out 14 batters in 25 innings of work. Collins was also a two-time academic all Mid-American Conference honoree.
Collins’s senior year at Central Michigan the team tied the school record for wins in a season while going 47-14. The team was crowned MAC regular season champions as well as MAC tournament Champions. They received an auto bid to the NCAA Division 1 Baseball Tournament and were placed in the Starkville, MS regional (Mississippi State). Collins worked an inning of relief against the Miami Hurricanes in game 3 of the regional.
Collins also played in the prestigious Northwoods League in 2017 and 2018. In 2017, Collins posted a 4-1 record with a 3.68 ERA. He made 7 starts and struck out 29 in 36.2 innings of work. Collins pitched both summers for the Fond Du Lac Dock Spiders.
Jack handles the day to day operations of Velocity and is also involved in lessons and training classes.
