Tryouts

velocity 2021-2022 tryout information

Wisc Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame member and former Bay Port Baseball Coach Mike Simoens and Jack Collins of Velocity Baseball Training Academy and are excited to announce year 3 of our travel ball programs. Our Travel Team program offers players the opportunity to receive over 100 hours of training Dec through July with our high level innovative baseball academy and coaches in our 9600 sq. Ft. indoor baseball facility – 2284 Sachs Ct, GB. Our teams will also travel to 4/5 elite tournaments in the Midwest allowing players to get exposure to college coaches. At the same time, we’ve built in some flexibility for players to stay connected with their community travel or legion teams. Players will not be required to attend every practice, but instead players will work with our coaches to coordinate a schedule that best meshes with your community teams. We feel that off-season training and exposure tournaments are important for players that aspire to play college baseball, but we also feel it is important for these players to stay connected with their current or future high school teammates.

Also new this year we have partnered with ETS Sports Performance, every Velocity Athlete will have the opportunity to take part in two sessions per week at ETS Performance Green Bay, December-March (Off-Season). Cost will be included in team fees. The sessions will include progressive ability-appropriate plan of strength, speed, agility, and deceleration training that will allow them to maximize their skills and athleticism on the field. It’s crucial for every athlete to develop the basic fundamental athletic and biomechanical movements, strength techniques and deceleration protocols through a customized plan in order to truly maximize their potential.

Our flexible 4/5 tournament schedule allows players to continue to play for their legion/school summer ball teams while also competing at exposure tournaments. Players will not be required to attend every practice, but will be able to coordinate a flexible schedule with their coaches, that allows them to train with Velocity and play with their legion/school summer ball teams. We feel that off-season training and exposure tournaments are important for players that aspire to play college baseball, but we also feel it is important for these players to stay connected with their current or future high school teammates. Tryout dates are listed in the link below.
